REcovery
Healing your body, whether it is after birth or preparing for pregnancy, is so important.
Sleep is one of the best ways to heal your body and create an environment that facilitates healing. Sleep can be complex.
There are trackers to see how often you wake up and if you work through the REM sleep cycle. These are important because they are telling us about the quality of your sleep, not just the length.
Quality is what matters when it comes to sleep. As for quantity, it is dependent of you, as an individual. There are people who are very comfortable when they get 5-6 hours of quality sleep. Others need 8-9 hours of quality sleep. The amount of sleep needed is all individual base.
The quality is universal. We all need to work through the REM cycle. It is important that individuals do not have too many disturbances and do not have too much light. Healthy sleep leads to a healthier weight, less likely to experience depression and anxiety, and it can lead to a healthier pregnancy.
